Sunworks, Inc. Customer Wins PowerPay™Amazing Tesla Giveaway

sunworks-tesla-giveawayROSEVILLE, CA (June 3, 2016) — Sunworks, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUNW), a leading provider of solar power solutions, announced that the Deacon Family has won a new 2016 Tesla from Sunworks.  Since January 1, 2015 Sunworks has been collecting qualified entrants through its PowerPay™ Referral Program and on May 15, 2016 the National Sweepstakes Company and Sunworks announced the Grand Prize Winners at their new Solar Design Center in Rocklin California.

When Corinne Deacon first got the call notifying her that she had won a Tesla, she thought it was a joke. “I didn’t believe it,” she admits, “but the person on the phone knew too much for it not to be real.” She immediately called her husband, Mitch, to share the good news. They’d often discussed the idea of owning a Tesla, but they hadn’t thought it possible. “It was never in our price range,” Corinne explains. She is an analyst for the State of California, and Mitch is a truck driver. “It was just a dream car,” she says, adding with a laugh, “A dream come true!”

The Deacon family won the car through the PowerPay™ Referral program of Sunworks, a solar energy company locally based in Roseville. The program rewards $1000 to any individual, business, or nonprofit organization that partners with Sunworks and refers a customer who installs a system with Sunworks. All partner referrals were granted entry into the “Amazing Tesla Giveaway”, with the winners announced at the main event hosted at their newly opened Design Center in Rocklin on May 15. “This was an exciting way to say thank you to our partners who continue to support our business and “spread the sunshine” to their friends, family and neighbors through our amazing referral program,” says Shirley Montalvo, PowerPay™ Division Director for Sunworks.

The Deacons have been satisfied Sunworks customers since installing solar panels in their home last July. Although they’d been anxious about the start-up costs, they soon discovered that Sunworks’ affordable payment plans with 30% federal tax credits made solar a smart investment, saving them hundreds of dollars a month in utility costs. Since their panels went operational in March, the Deacons estimate that they’ve already saved over a thousand dollars—not to mention the additional thousand dollars they earned for their referral. “We couldn’t be happier for the Deacon Family and all of the other families participating in our one thousand dollar PowerPay™ Referral Program.  With the launch of our Sunworks Referral App we anticipate the program to double this program revenue from 2015.” adds Emil Beitpolous, Sunworks President of Residential Solar.

Ironically, the referral was something of an afterthought for Corinne. She met someone interested in solar through her work, and she handed them the Sunworks card and told them she’d been satisfied with the professionalism and efficiency of her own solar installation. After that, she’d let it slip from her mind, never imagining that she would one day find herself driving a Tesla.

But Corinne’s Sunworks experience was about more than winning a car, or even saving money.  She and her husband have three children, and they believe that renewable energy is the key to protecting the environment for future generations. “I worry about my kids, and my kids’ kids,” she explains. “People sometimes abuse energy and water and everything. We all need to think about tomorrow, to make sure there is energy to support everything that we need in life.”
