Photovoltaic (PV) Lead Installer Position

Position Summary: As a Lead installer you will be responsible for making materials & parts list for each job. Oversee the installation of the solar structure and manage each step throughout the job. You will lead the installation team from start to finish and ensure the solar structure is built per plans & drawings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead installer will make material & parts list for each job.
  2. Assist with installation of the solar structure.
  3. Supervise each step throughout the job.
  4. Lead the solar install team from start to finish of each project
  5. Responsible for all technical and safety aspects of PV installation
  6. Ensure safe work practices of the installation team
  7. Train other crew team members in PV installation
  8. Complete all necessary paperwork to close out job.

Requirements:

  • Experience of at least 3 years installing solar/ photovoltaic systems.
  • Candidates must be open to working overtime hours if needed.
  • Flexible hours if required.
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to manage other employees
  • Ability to converse with customers if necessary
  • California Certified Journeyman’s Electrician card
  • A working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), OSHA safety standards and local Jurisdiction codes.
  • Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
  • Must be able to assemble and test solar designs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be skilled with bending conduit and common electrical practices.
  • General construction knowledge to include: roofing, electrical and carpentry skills.
  • Full range of mobility in upper and lower body and be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
  • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Position requires roof and attic work.
  • Maintains valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willing and able to travel to various job locations. Includes travel to Southern California.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to put in the time necessary to maintain an effective schedule
    that matches the needs of clients and budget.
