Bishop's Pumpkin Farm is a large agritourism pumpkin farm located about 30 miles north of Sacramento in Wheatland, California. The pumpking farm invites local school childen to come visit the farm and learn more about the process and happenings of the farm. They are also famous for their delicious homemade foods, authentic farm fun, and the largest U-pick pumpking field in the world.
CHALLENGE
To make the farm more self-sufficient and cost effective, Bishop's Farm reached out to Sunworks to inquire about installing a solar panel system. Bishop's Farm had been thinking about going solar for quite some time before making the switch. A large storage facility had been built to store more refrigerators. This building made for the perfect place to install the solar panels.
SOLUTION
"With the help of the solar power system installed by Sunworks, they are expecting a 60% decrease in their power bill.
In the long term, using solar will free up a lot of cash flow that can now be used to purchase more equipment for the farm."
OUTCOME
Bishop's Pumpking Farm is anticipating installing more solar panel systems on other buildings on the property.
