Rivermaid Trading Company is a family farming business and leading innovator in growing, packing and shipping fresh pears and cherries around the world. Rivermaid made the switch to using solar power to operate the machinery used to sort and package millions of pears and cherries year-round.
CHALLENGE
Rivermaid has hundreds of thousands of square feet of cold storage in their facility as well as large equipment that requires electricity. Being able to reduce utility cost is a big factor for the profitability of the company.
SOLUTION
With the help of Suwnorks, Rivermaid Trading has installed 1.5 MW total of solar on multiple buildings within their facility. These solar panels can cover nearly 60% of the electric power Rivermaid uses at the facility. With the savings Rivermaid has benefited from by going solar, they now have more money to invest and help the company grow further.
