COMMERCIAL SUNworks Adding Storage Option to Booming Solar Business
The solar storage announcements keep coming in. Solar3D (OTCQB: SLTD) is one of the solar companies at the forefront of this emerging area. The company just announced that its SUNworks division is now offering battery storage systems with its solar electric systems, for customers who want solar power solutions that are optimized for increased cost efficiency and reliability.
SUNworks previously announced its entry into the battery storage market through a solar implementation project with Jackson Family Wines in Santa Rosa, California.
Storage is what will take solar to the next level. Although not yet ideal for every solar system owner, battery storage will play a significant role in energy levelization and system outage protection. Drawing even small amounts of energy from the power grid during peak hours can be extremely expensive.
Battery storage changes that. It lets a system owner draw power from the battery storage instead of the grid when rates are at peak pricing during the day, and then pull from the grid again as rates go down. The battery storage unit can also be recharged during off-peak pricing times, thus levelizing the cost of energy even further.
In addition, when the grid goes down, these battery storage units act as backup power, keeping necessary appliances and electronics running.

SUNworks, which provides solar systems for a range of agricultural, commercial, and residential customers, has enjoyed record sales recently. In addition to providing storage options, it’s been innovative in other areas — for example, offering purchasing options for solar on new homes.
